So easy.SO yummy.❤️️ Link to Recipe: Ingredients 1½ lbs. chicken thighs, boneless, skinless, cut into bite size pieces 1 Tbsp. canola oil 3 medium carrots, sliced diagonally into ½-inch pieces 1 medium sweet onion, cut into 12 wedges 6 garlic cloves, chopped 5 cups chicken stock, divided 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour 1 dried bay leaf 12 oz. baby white potatoes, quartered ¼ cup fresh chopped parsley salt and freshly ground black pepper ( i always add in extra seasonings. I added about 1/2 to 1 tablespoon of oregano.around a teaspoon of paprika.and around 1/2 tablespoon of garlic and herb seasoning) Season the chicken with salt and pepper, to taste. Heat oil over high heat. Add chicken and cook, stirring occasionally, until brown on all sides, about 6 minutes total. Transfer to a plate. Add carrots and onion to the pot and cook, stirring often, until onions begin to soften, about 4-5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, stirring nonstop. Add ½ cup chicken stock while stirring and scraping to loosen browned bits from the bottom of the dutch oven. In a small bowl, whisk together flour and ½ cup broth; add to the dutch oven. Stir in chicken and remaining 4 cups of chicken broth. Add bay leaf and season with salt and pepper, to taste. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 25 minutes, partially covered. Add potatoes and cook uncovered until potatoes are tender, about 18-20 minutes. The liquid will slightly reduce even further. Stir in parsley and discard bay leaf before serving. Take a pressure cooker ,add all the vegetables along with salt ,onion slices and 1/4 cup of water.1 whistle is enough When the pressure settle down open the cooker , add thin coconut milk along with green chilly ,curry leaves and chopped ginger.Stir well. Allow it to boil and when it become very thick add thick coconut milk to this. Remove from the fire.Check the salt.Finally garnish with 1 tsp coconut oil and string of curry leaves. Close the cooker for 5 minutes. By this time the stew looks like very creamy and medium thick form.So transfer the tasty stew to a serving dish and serve hot with palappam ,dosa etc … Some people used to add garam masala in this recipe.But i dont garam masala in veg stew.So if u like that smell u can add. :)

Its always a love hate feeling depending on the porosity of the tomato and the sweetness influenced by the herbs, spices and meat used to make the sauce. ***NOTE*** I noticed some editing error in the section of the meat, please do ignore and read further in this description box for more information. I would divide the recipe in two part for the stew and for the meat. INGREDIENTS: FOR THE STEW 8 large tomatoes 3 large onions 4 bell peppers (tartashe) 4 scotch bonnet 1\2 tsp garlic 1\2 tsp ginger 1 tsp thyme 1 tsp curry 40g tomato puree (optional) 2 bullion cubes Meat stock ( Stock powder can be used also) 1/2 cup Vegetable oil 2 Stock cubes (optional) FOR THE MEAT 400g beef 500g chicken 3 scotch bonnet (chopped) 1 tbsp garlic 1 tbsp ginger 1 tbsp thyme 1 tbsp curry 2 bullion cubes 1 tsp Salt 1/2 medium onions (chopped) ***NOTE*** Always taste the stew before adding salt or bullion cubes so as to not add excess. This is because taste buds varies. STEPS FOR MEAT In a pot, add the beef, chopped onions, ginger, garlic, thyme, curry, scotch bonnet (Hot pepper). Stir and steam for 5 mins on medium heat. Add 1.5 cups of water, diced chicken, 1/2 tsp of salt and stir Cook for 10 mins on medium heat Drain the water from the meat (this would be used in making the stew) Transfer the meat to a baking pan a grill or bake until brown( the meat can also be fried as well) Set aside to be used for the stew. STEPS FOR THE STEW Blend tomatoes, pepper, onions, scotch bonnet to a smooth paste. Add 1/2 cup of oil to the pot and heat for 5 mins and pour the blended mix in to the pot. Cook for 30 - 45 mins on medium heat. Add the tomato puree, and cook for another 10 - 15 mins (or until the oil start to surface and the water content has dried). Add the seasonings (thyme, curry, ginger, garlic, bullion cubes, stock cubes) and the meat stock Cook for 10 - 15 mins on medium low heat (this is to infuse the ingredients together and to further ensure the tomatoes has no sour taste). Add the grilled/fried meat to the stew and cook for 10 mins on medium low heat. Serve with any side of your choice.

Stew Beef, cubed 3 tablespoon all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons canola oil 1/2 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper 1 medium onion, diced 4 medium potatoes, peeled, cleaned and sliced in half 1 cup celery, cute into 1 inch pieces 2 carrots, peeled, cleaned and cute into 1-2 inch pieces 1 cup tomato juice 1 1/2 cup beef stock 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, optional 1. Combine meat, flour and pepper in bag.toss to coat. 2. Add oil to Dutch oven or heavy sauce pan, over medium high heat, add seasoned beef and sear all sides. Remove meat from hot pan. 3. Add to hot Dutch oven onions, tomato juice, beef stock, celery, carrots, potatoes, garlic cloves, bay leaves and seared beef cubes. Bring to a boil. Add tight fitting lid to Dutch oven. 4. Place in oven and bake 50- 60 minutes or until beef and potatoes are tender. Serve while warm. Beef Stew can be stored in airtight container for up to 3 day.

Japanese Cream Stew クリームシチュー This past October, we went to Japan for a food (and Formula 1) vacation. When we weren't eating sashimi, we stuffed our faces with the likes of takoyaki, okonomiyaki, tonkatsu, etc. The one thing I didn't get to try was kurimu shichu - Japanese cream stew. Japanese cream stew (クリームシチュー, kurīmu shichū) is a popular Yōshoku dish made with meat, usually chicken or pork, onions, carrots, and potatoes, cooked in thick white roux. You can find the pre-made roux, similar to the Japanese curry blocks. But why go the easy route? Here is a simple recipe for Japanese cream stew, hope you give it a try! Stay warm! Ingredients: ½ onion, rough chopped 2 celery ribs, rough chopped 1 large carrot, rough chopped 1 large potato, rough chopped 1 lb of chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces Salt and pepper 2 cups of chicken stock 1 tsp of cayenne ½ tsp of Worcestershire sauce 2 cups of 2% milk 3 tbsp of room-temp butter 3 tbsp of flour Directions: 1. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Brown in a large heavy bottom pot. Remove and set aside. 2. Add chopped onions, celery, carrot and potato. Season with salt and sauté until onions are slightly softened. 3. Pour in the chicken stock and add the cayenne and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil. 4. Add the chicken back to the pot. Lower the heat and pour in the milk. Give it a stir and bring to a simmer. 5. While the stew is simmering, mix together the butter and flour to make the roux. Temper the roux by spoon some of the simmering liquid into the butter flour mix and stir until everything is well-incorporated. 6. Pour the roux into the stew and stir. Keep simmering and stirring occasionally until the stew has thickened. 7. Serve warm. Enjoy! Notes: I like a bit of spice, but if you’re not a fan, feel free to omit the cayenne pepper. FULL RECIPE BELOW Hello, leftovers! Nothing says home cooking like a hearty beef stew. Learn how to make it in this episode! Check out more from LearnToCook.com at BEEF STEW RECIPE: Ingredients: 1 lb. beef chuck ½ onion, medium 1/2 celery stalk ½ carrot, large 1 clove garlic 8 oz. red potatoes 6 ea. button mushrooms coarse salt ground black pepper 1.5 oz. flour 2 tbsp vegetable oil 2 cups beef stock 3 oz. stewed tomatoes 1 tsp worcestershire sauce Methods PREPARATION METHOD: 1. Trim the sinews off the meat and cut into 1 inch cubes 2. Peel and cut the onion into small dice 3. Wash the celery and cut into small dice 4. Wash, peel and rewash the carrots and cut into batonnet 5. Peel and crush the garlic. Chop finely 6. Wash, peel and rewash the potatoes and cut into medium dice 7. Remove the stems from the mushrooms and cut them in half COOKING METHOD: 1. Season the beef and lightly coat with flour 2. Heat the oil in a large sauce pan, put in the beef and brown on all sides. You may need to add the meat in stages otherwise the temperature may be too low and the meat will boil rather than fry. Remove and place in a bowl with a paper towel to absorb excess oil 3. Check the amount of oil in the sauce pan and if needed add more to sauté the onions. Add the potatoes and carrots and sauté until lightly golden. Add the celery, garlic and mushrooms and sauté briefly. Remove all ingredients and reserve in a bowl 4. Add ½ cup of the stock to the saucepan and deglaze to loosen all particles from the bottom of the pan 5. Add beef cubes back into the sauce pan, add the remaining stock, stewed tomatoes and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to the boil and reduce to a low simmer, place a lid on top. Simmer for 30-45 minutes then check the meat for tenderness 6. Add the vegetables and stir, cover and simmer for another 20-30 minutes or until vegetables are al dente (firm to the bite) and beef cubes are fork tender 7.
