This video is about How To Make Nigerian Stew. Tomato stew is commonly eaten across Nigeria, it is a staple Sunday meal served in most homes in the nation. Its always a love hate feeling depending on the porosity of the tomato and the sweetness influenced by the herbs, spices and meat used to make the sauce. ***NOTE*** I noticed some editing error in the section of the meat, please do ignore and read further in this description box for more information. I would divide the recipe in two part for the stew and for the meat. INGREDIENTS: FOR THE STEW 8 large tomatoes 3 large onions 4 bell peppers (tartashe) 4 scotch bonnet 1\2 tsp garlic 1\2 tsp ginger 1 tsp thyme 1 tsp curry 40g tomato puree (optional) 2 bullion cubes Meat stock ( Stock powder can be used also) 1/2 cup Vegetable oil 2 Stock cubes (optional) FOR THE MEAT 400g beef 500g chicken 3 scotch bonnet (chopped) 1 tbsp garlic 1 tbsp ginger 1 tbsp thyme 1 tbsp curry 2 bullion cubes 1 tsp Salt 1/2 medium onions (chopped) ***NOTE*** Always taste the stew before adding salt or bullion cubes so as to not add excess. This is because taste buds varies. STEPS FOR MEAT In a pot, add the beef, chopped onions, ginger, garlic, thyme, curry, scotch bonnet (Hot pepper). Stir and steam for 5 mins on medium heat. Add 1.5 cups of water, diced chicken, 1/2 tsp of salt and stir Cook for 10 mins on medium heat Drain the water from the meat (this would be used in making the stew) Transfer the meat to a baking pan a grill or bake until brown( the meat can also be fried as well) Set aside to be used for the stew. STEPS FOR THE STEW Blend tomatoes, pepper, onions, scotch bonnet to a smooth paste. Add 1/2 cup of oil to the pot and heat for 5 mins and pour the blended mix in to the pot. Cook for 30 - 45 mins on medium heat. Add the tomato puree, and cook for another 10 - 15 mins (or until the oil start to surface and the water content has dried). Add the seasonings (thyme, curry, ginger, garlic, bullion cubes, stock cubes) and the meat stock Cook for 10 - 15 mins on medium low heat (this is to infuse the ingredients together and to further ensure the tomatoes has no sour taste). Add the grilled/fried meat to the stew and cook for 10 mins on medium low heat. Serve with any side of your choice.

⇨VEGAN IRISH STEW FULL RECIPE: ⇨My kitchen tools & more vegan faves: ⇨Subscribe for more fuss-free vegan deliciousness: SHIRT I'M WEARING: In this video, I show you how to make Irish stew. This vegetable stew recipe is hearty, satisfying, rich, and perfect for St. Patrick's Day recipes. Traditional Irish stew is made with beef and Guinness beer. Obviously beef isn't vegan, so I skip that and replace it with hearty vegetables. And beer isn't (believe it or not) isn't always vegan either as they sometimes use isinglass (fish blatters.ew) to filter the beer. Guinness is currently in the process of changing their recipe to be vegan. I know it is vegan in some areas but not yet everywhere. In my vegan stew recipe, I used a local beer which is vegan-friendly. How to: Make Stew - Trim any excess meat, if necessary - Rest mean at room temperature for 30 minutes - Pat meat dry for better browning - Heat olive oil in a large stockpot, over medium high heat - Add the first half of the meat to brown it (overcrowding the pot will cause the meat to steam rather than brown.) - Add a small amount of salt and pepper to the meat, as it cooks. - Frequently turn meat for even browning. - After all the meat is browned and removed from the pot, add aromatics, such as onions, carrots and garlic. - Cook for about 10 minutes, until the vegetables are soft. - Next, add the meat back into the pot with wine and broth, and any other ingredients called for in your recipe. - Bring it to a simmer and cover the pot - Cook the stew on the stove top or in the oven, as called for in your recipe, for about 90 minutes, until the meat is tender. In this video I will show you how I make basic Ghanaian chicken stew. I love these kind of stews because they are very versatile, it can be eaten with rice, but also with potatoes, yam, and even spaghetti or plantain. You can make a allot at once and its quite simple to make! INGREDIENTS Chicken +/-600g Ginger (approximately 80g) 1 Scotch bonnet Pepper 2-4 Cloves Garlic 2-3 Onions 1 -2 Magi cubes Salt to taste 4 Cups Vegetable Oil (Approximately) 1/4 cup Tomato paste (70 gr.) 1 Tablespoon Powdered Pepper 2 Cans of Tinned (plum) tomatoes 1 Tablespoon Cumin Powder 1 Tablespoon Curry powder INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Wash and clean the chicken. Blend the Scotch bonnet together with one onion, garlic ginger and a little bit of water to help with he blending. 2. Add the blended spices to the meat, add magi cubes and or salt to the meat. Cover the pan with its lid and let the chicken cook for about 15 - 20 minutes. * Instead of using fresh veggies you can use powdered spices to steam the chicken. 3. In another pan heat vegetable oil over medium fire and fry the chicken. Remove the chicken from the pan when you're done. 4. When you are done frying the chicken you can use the same pan to fry the onions for about 2-3 minutes. 5. Now add the powdered pepper and let it cook for another 1-2 minutes. 6. Now add the tomato paste and mix it with the fried onions 7. While the onions and tomato paste are cooking, blend the tomatoes and then add it to the stew. Let the stew cook for about 7-10 minutes. 8. Add the spices and salt. 9. Let the stew cook for about 5 - 7 minutes then add the fried chicken 10. Let it cook some more, until the water in the tomatoes evaporates and the stew gets a brownish color. 🎵 Music: Ryan Little - Day 8 ——————————————————————————— 💻 Facebook: 📷 Instagram: 👻Snapchat: inammaskitchen

Japanese Cream Stew クリームシチュー This past October, we went to Japan for a food (and Formula 1) vacation. When we weren't eating sashimi, we stuffed our faces with the likes of takoyaki, okonomiyaki, tonkatsu, etc. The one thing I didn't get to try was kurimu shichu - Japanese cream stew. Japanese cream stew (クリームシチュー, kurīmu shichū) is a popular Yōshoku dish made with meat, usually chicken or pork, onions, carrots, and potatoes, cooked in thick white roux. You can find the pre-made roux, similar to the Japanese curry blocks. But why go the easy route? Here is a simple recipe for Japanese cream stew, hope you give it a try! Stay warm! Ingredients: ½ onion, rough chopped 2 celery ribs, rough chopped 1 large carrot, rough chopped 1 large potato, rough chopped 1 lb of chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces Salt and pepper 2 cups of chicken stock 1 tsp of cayenne ½ tsp of Worcestershire sauce 2 cups of 2% milk 3 tbsp of room-temp butter 3 tbsp of flour Directions: 1. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Brown in a large heavy bottom pot. Remove and set aside. 2. Add chopped onions, celery, carrot and potato. Season with salt and sauté until onions are slightly softened. 3. Pour in the chicken stock and add the cayenne and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil. 4. Add the chicken back to the pot. Lower the heat and pour in the milk. Give it a stir and bring to a simmer. 5. While the stew is simmering, mix together the butter and flour to make the roux. Temper the roux by spoon some of the simmering liquid into the butter flour mix and stir until everything is well-incorporated. 6. Pour the roux into the stew and stir. Keep simmering and stirring occasionally until the stew has thickened. 7. Serve warm. Enjoy! Notes: I like a bit of spice, but if you’re not a fan, feel free to omit the cayenne pepper.
